China’s Woodworking Machinery Industry: Development and Opportunities

Release date :2018-06-15 Browse times:2137

With China’s economic development and continuous innovation and advancement in science and technology, over the past decade, traditional woodworking machinery technologies have been gradually replaced by highly efficient, high-precision automated, semi-automated, and intelligent machinery—such as woodworking carving machines and engraving machines—making the industry today one characterized by a wide variety of products and fine classification. The woodworking machinery industry has become a vital sector within China’s technical equipment industry and ranks second globally in terms of its contribution to national GDP within the woodworking machinery sector. However, due to constraints imposed by relatively underdeveloped economic conditions and a weak scientific and technological foundation, China’s development in this industry started late and from a low baseline. Significant gaps remain between China and international standards in areas such as innovative mechanical design, technical capability, design philosophy, and intellectual property rights.

Therefore, we must proactively leverage the opportunities presented by China’s integration into the global market, adopt diverse approaches and methods to introduce and learn advanced, scientific foreign design concepts, harness the conveniences brought by the information age, actively promote marketing efforts, establish our own brands, and participate competitively in international markets.
