Since the era of Industry 4.0, "customization" has become a commonly mentioned term in the industry, and the popularity of furniture customization has led to the rapid development of CNC cutting machines. CNC cutting machine is an intelligent cutting equipment for panel furniture. The use of supporting typesetting software enables online design, presentation of 3D renderings, one click disassembly, optimization of typesetting, automatic hole arrangement, and other functions. Equipped with a vacuum adsorption table, drilling, slotting, and cutting can be completed in one loading process, greatly improving processing efficiency. Moreover, by installing flower shaped knives of different shapes, the function of a carving machine can be fully realized, making cabinet doors and wooden door shapes that are even better than carving machines.

Therefore, there is a functional overlap between the cutting machine and the engraving machine, and the appearance of these two devices looks almost the same. However, due to their different focuses, these two devices have significant differences in market price, bed structure, technical requirements, and other aspects. 、

Firstly, in terms of price, traditional single head carving machines and multi process carving machines are about 20000 yuan cheaper than corresponding cutting machines. However, this price is only a rough estimate because the market price of cutting machines varies greatly due to different configurations.

However, the high price of the cutting machine is mainly due to its higher overall configuration compared to the carving machine. The bed weight of the cutting machine is half or even twice that of the carving machine. Moreover, most cutting machines choose 1.5 or 2 mode racks, 25 or 30 guide rails, which is one level higher than carving machines. In terms of brand selection, it is also more cautious than carving machines (setting aside advertising suspicions and not mentioning specific brands, if necessary, please message the editor privately), and all of this is to meet the performance requirements of cutting machines. The cutting machine is used for high-precision, heavy-duty work such as sheet cutting. The average processing speed of the CNC cutting machine can reach 15m/min, and the cut plates are required to be free of defects such as broken edges, serrations, and wavy patterns. Heavy duty bed frame and high-quality guide rails and racks can ensure that the machine will not deform during long-term high-speed operation. However, the carving machine has slow cutting speed and low precision when making boards, and operates under heavy load for a long time, which seriously affects the service life of the equipment.

Secondly, when selecting the type of motor for the cutting machine, hybrid servo, domestic servo or imported servo are generally used, which is different from the stepper servo of ordinary engraving machines. The main purpose is to meet the requirements of high speed and high precision and improve processing efficiency.

In addition to the above, the choice of spindle is another difference between the two. The power of the spindle affects the processing effect. Therefore, for high-speed cutting and cutting machines, high-power spindles are needed, commonly including 4.5KW, 6KW, 9KW, 12KW, etc., while carving machines generally use lower power.

It should be noted that there are also differences between the cutting machine and the engraving machine in terms of board fixation: the cutting machine is mainly based on an adsorption table, which requires the addition of an adsorption pump as an accessory, which is also one of the reasons for the increase in cost. Many customers may say when buying a machine that it is good to use an adsorption table for processing the entire board, but using an adsorption pump for processing small boards will consume a lot of electricity, so they want a dual-purpose suction and clamping table. However, this perception is biased, and its adsorption effect is not as good as that of a full adsorption table. Now the adsorption table is divided into zones, and small pieces of board can be separated into a single adsorption area to achieve the goal of saving electricity. For adsorption pumps, there are two types: air-cooled and water-cooled. The air-cooled adsorption pump has a higher noise level, but the water-cooled adsorption pump needs to pay attention to winter antifreeze issues. Therefore, you can choose the appropriate adsorption pump according to the local climate conditions.

The last small difference is reflected in the upgrade of the control system. Generally, the cutting machine does not use pirated systems or handle systems, and mostly uses genuine systems. Different control systems are selected according to customer needs.
